Looks good so far.  You will probably want to use spamc/spamd instead
of spamassassin for site-wide though; it's a heck of a lot faster.

Hmmm...  Are there any error logs saying why spamd died?  Did spamd
actually die (check with ps)?

Need?  No.

So either it's already running, or there's another process using that
port.  Check to see if spamd is running via ps.  If it's not, you can use
"lsof -i" to figure out what is using port 783 TCP.

# lsof -i | grep 783
spamd      8450 root    4u  IPv4 54924054       TCP localhost:783 (LISTEN)
