Ok, but in that case I have the additional need for maintaining another
mail server locally.
Another point is that the only access to the main mail server is via
IMAPS (ok I could add stunnel but I hoped that there's of a slightly more
simpler solution to my problem ;-))

POP3 isdn't working in my case (see above).

I twiddled a bit around with formail and SA but didn't find a satisfying
solution since some race conditions aroused when deleting mails from Pine
while SpamAssassin was "working" on the mbox'es...
