I sort of found a way do it this by making /home/vpopmail/domains/domain.com/.qmail-bleh file (even though it is a real pop account also) and adding to that file
|maildrop
Now I ran a few tests and it seems to work ok just wondering if this
ok and if not how would i do this?
maildrop that runs spamassassin. Then, people who want spam filtering
have "|maildrop" in their .qmail file, and people who don't want spam
filtering don't run maildrop.
That works. It may be problematic if someone wants to run maildrop
*without* running spamassassin, though. (Maybe maildrop has a switch
to allow them to override the system-wide configuration file for
maildrop. Or maybe no one on your site needs to run maildrop without
running spamassassin.)
That's right. I didn't bother setting it up as a daemon, since I'm theOH WAIT.... hehe... Your not running spamassassin as a daemon?
only one using SpamAssassin, and judging by recent e-mails on the
list, spamd might be somewhat broken.
you added .qmail file in the vpopmail users dir? is that correct?
Reason im using maildrop is to put the spam in the /home/vpopmail/domains/domain.com/bleh/Maildir/.TrashThat's right.
I don't even want to see the emails because if they are tagged as spam with the filters i set they are spam. black_list :)
Well let me give you more details on our server..
We are running qmail+vpopmail+sqwebmail+qmailadmin+qmail-scanner+spamassassin+maildrop
Now why do we need maildrop? 1 of the reasons was to allow users to add their own filters through sqwebmail but I decided not to do that because we have to have maildrop setup for the entire domain.
What I have is spamassassin is invoked via maildrop on my setup..
Do I need to have maildrop invoke this?
Also the .mailfilter file is also in the /home/vpopmail/domains/domain.com/bleh/.mailfilter ?
What im trying to accomplish is the best way to do this without having to worry about extra overhead. If I can eliminate maildrop I will.
