Hi.

If anyone on this mailing list uses squirrelmail and uses maildrop w/
mysql & virtual users, I have put together a beta version of the filters
plugin that allows you to modify the .mailfilter file in a virtual users
directory. It also has support to set/unset using spamassassin which is
called in the .mailfilter file.

The one downside is that the virtual users need to all use uid.gid =
apache/http or whatever user process you use for your web server.

This isn't perfect, but given the security issue with .mailfilter files,
it was the only way I had around that for now.

The filters plugin has been written to allow for modules to be created
for maildrop or any other filter program (so that someone coudl, for
instance, create one for maildrop w/o the need for mysql or virtual
users, etc).

Anyway, if interested, the filter is on my site at www.sunilactive.com.
You will see both a tar'd and a bzip2'd version right under downloads.

Please give me any feedback you can if you use it. EVentually I will
migrate it to be a plugin on the squirrelmail site if enough people
think it is useful.

Cheers.

Sunil
