Over the last couple of days I have installed SA 2.43 and MIME-Defang 2.24 on RedHat 8. I installed the patched MIME tools module. Also followed the advice in Mickey Hill's MIMEDefang HOWTO. Not running the spamd yet. The linux box is acting as a front end and then forwards the message into our Exchange server. Currently only testing with an alias of mine that tends to get a bunch of spam.
SA and MIME-defang are working and the logs on the linux system and the exchange server show the messages coming in. As part of my testing I've telnet'd to the smtp port on the linux box and manually sent messages. I've been using the sample-nonspam.txt and the sample-spam.txt as the DATA content of the messages. The first time I send the test messages they come through fine. It appears that for all subsequent times I send the messages I see the messages come in and process on the linux box with SA/MIME-Defang. They then are sent to our Exchange server and I see in the logs they successfully come in. And then they vanish. Has anyone experienced this before? Or any suggestions what might be causing the problem? Thank you.
