Just autowhitelist the guy. In your ~/.spamassassin/user_prefs (or wherever your user_prefs file is located), add this line: whitelist_from [EMAIL PROTECTED] or if you might get mail from more than one person: whitelist_from *@trendmls.com > I'm just wondering if anyone can see a pattern in this email to knock down > the score a bit... It was not a spam, and just _barely_ broke the barrier. > I'd rather modify/add rules than change the default threshold of 5. When starting with any new version of SA, it is sometimes is good to temporarily raise your threshold to a safer level (perhaps 8) and leave it there until you've added most of the rule tweaks needed to reduce your false-positives. While I'm breaking it in, I look at any non-spam message that scores above 3.5 or so and tweak my user_prefs to lower it a bit. Usually, whitelist does the job, but I have five personal rules as well. I think it's also a good idea to always check your spam folder (if you have one) from time to time, but really important to check it once a day while breaking in a new version.
