That reminds me of my situation. I have about 30 email addresses published
over the years for various reasons, including one from '92 that still
receives valid mail. And I've always been a packrat.

I get an average of 160 spam messages per day, about 100 of which are sent
to addresses I still receive valid mail on. (The rest are addresses
converted to spamtraps.) I was on the verge of abandoning all of my old
addresses when I tried SpamAssassin, and now I keep them because SA takes
care of 99% of the problem.

I cringe every time someone says "what's the big deal, just press Delete."
Try that when you have 15X as much spam as real email...
