There's your first mistake; in general, I've found the AWL to be unreliable. I've commonly seen spams score a nice fat negative due to the AWL - heaven knows how those addresses got in there with negative scores. In particularly bad instance we had someone real end up with a high positive score (something like 4.7!), which was enough to *almost* loose email...
