We are running spamassassin 2.20 systemwide with postfix, but have noticed a gradual uptick in spam getting through of late. Our spamassassin was installed by someone else, and my knowledge is pretty low. Questions:
1. Would updating to a later version likely reduce the spam getting through? 2. How big a risk is there that an idiot like me will screw up our working spamassassin by installing a newer one (idiocy level is somewhere between that of a smart gerbil and a slow hamster)? 3. Any tips or tricks I can do to minimize risk? Many thanks.
