I am running spamassassin 2.31

After having trouble using spamd/spamc with my virtual postfix+mysql
setup, I went back to using spamassassin -P, but want to try to get the
daemon working right.

I currently use the user "mail" for purposes of calling maildrop as a
transport from postfix.

I have only virtual users stored in a Mysql DB, and each directory is
stored at:

/var/spool/mail/vhosts/domainname/username/... (Maildir, etc)

When I insert the line "xfilter spamc" in my .mailfilter, spamd is
correctly called, but it tries to set up user prefs in mail's homedir.

How could I set up the spamc/spamd calls to allow (i) using the uid.gid
for the virtual users and (ii) write a user pref either (a) in mail's
homdir but with a tag to indicate the full user@domain or (b) stick the
..spamassassin user pref in the virtual user's "home directory"?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!!! I have been searching
and not finding a viable solution yet.

Sunil

p.s. Does 2.41 fix a lot of these problems? I saw a couple of flags that
"may" be helpful...
