There's a bug in some versions of procmail. My current suspicion is that it only shows up when use of mmap() was enabled during the procmail build, but I haven't been able to confirm that. Get ftp://ftp.procmail.net/pub/procmail/testing/snapshot.tar.gz (if you can; the server seems to be unreachable -- looks like the mirror at ftp://ftp.fu-berlin.de/pub/unix/mail/procmail/testing/snapshot.tar.gz is up to date).
