A followon to my previous message: Running sendmail on my own server, the only time its ip address appears in a Received header is when it is used to send out mail. Incoming mail results in a Received header that shows its local ip address inside the NAT firewall. So it would be easy to filter out any mail that has my domain in the >From address and does not have my mail server's external ip address in a Received header.
This trick would not work for people who don't have a dedicated SMTP server at a fixed ip address for their exclusive use that can be accessed from anywhere they want to send mail. That's where a custom X-header configured in your mail client might come in. -- sidney _______________________________________________________________ Sponsored by: ThinkGeek at http://www.ThinkGeek.com/ _______________________________________________ Spamassassin-talk mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/spamassassin-talk
