Greetings. This is my first time posting to this list.
Apologies if this isn't the right forum for this; in that case,
could you direct me to the right place?

Does anyone else think there should be a rule for "International
Driver's Licenses"? That's a frequent subject and/or body phrase
that pops up in spam and almost never in "real" email. You know,
"Lost your license? Drive again with an International Driver's
License!"

I just forwarded one to spamassassin-sightings that was missed by
SpamAssassin.

The spams are usually aimed at people who've lost their driver's
license due to things like DUI or other serious motor vehicle
offenses. They're also illegal to drive with in the USA *unless
you have a valid license issued by your home jurisdiction*.

There's a frequent phrase that gets used in these spams, too,
something like "1949 Convention on International Road Traffic".
Filtering on that phrase might work, as could "can never be
suspended or revoked." That would get you around the folks who
are asking on some mailing list or other, "Hey, I'm going to
Europe and want to rent a car, what do I need?"
