I've been using Spam Assassin for a few months now and find it to be a
fantastic project. My thanks go out to the team!

I do have one major issue though; Whenever files with large
attachments ( > 4mb )are sent into our domain, SpamAssassin will take
about 45% of available memory and 98% of the processor according to
output from the top command.

After about 10 minutes of churning, the mail will be returned to the
sender with a SERVICE UNAVAILABLE message. Processor usage will
return to normal at this point. Occasionally, the mail will get stuck
in the mail queue, and oddly enough... actually append itself to other
messages. In other words, normal small unrelated emails may suddenly
become 5 mb, with their original content plus that of the stuck mail

I am using SpamAssassin v2.20, procmail v3.21, perl 5.005, sendmail
8.11.6, redhat Linux 6.2 with all updates installed.

Any clues on where to begin? Where might I find for verbose logging
for this?

I am gracious for your help.

Regards,

Joel Epstein
