At this point, if I don't stop SA being a resource hog, I can't offer SA to my users at all - I need SA to not process emails for 1000+ email accounts, and ONLY process emails for those who opt in. .procmailrc's in the user's home directory, which is probably the only solution in the current codebase, won't work as previously mentioned. Substracting 6/20/100 from the score won't reduce processing time. >Have you looked at using SQL for your solution? You can have virtual users' >preferences in the database, and have a default setting in local.cf of >"required_hits 200". Then for users who opt in, just add a "required_hits >7.0 (or whatever) to the database for their address. I want to reduce resources, not add more with a SQL backend ;) ... >Have you considered that SA in its default configuration is an "opt in" >system anyway? Since it marks messages and doesn't filter them, you could >run it sitewide and let users opt whether to act on SA's headers. A few things: - my users are too dumb to know what the heck you're talking about. - I'd rather not increase my support calls for users who can't bother to read instructions on how to setup filters, nor for those who screw it up and start deleting all valid messages and then having them blame it on us. Yes, this will happen. No, I will not "try" it. - The goal of the initial email (and thus, the "feature") was to reduce resources by starting with 0 and "increasing resources" for only those who tell us to "turn on" SA for them. It had little to do, technically, with creating an "opt in" system. -- Morbus Iff ( i desire penance for your sins ) Culture: http://www.disobey.com/ and http://www.gamegrene.com/ Tech: http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/au/779 - articles and weblog icq: 2927491 / aim: akaMorbus / yahoo: morbus_iff / jabber.org: morbus _______________________________________________________________ Have big pipes?
