I'm running a base debian stable box and just installed the spamassassin yesterday via source. for some reason when I perform an /etc/init.d/sysklogd restart on the box the spamd process dies about 30 seconds later. Is that normal? I've tried running the daemon in the foreground, watching the process die and looking for error code, but it just dies clean and the fg goes back to my shell prompt with a return. Thanks for this tool - I've integrated the sql frontend into our intranet and the staff is thrilled! -l
