Configuration error I think.

1. You need to let your host know its own name for locking of the DB file can 
work right.  Try an entry in /etc/hosts
2. The AWL entries should indeed be stored in ~/.spamassassin/auto_whitelist.db, 
though depending on what DB system AnyDBMFile picks up, the name of the file 
might be subtely different from that.

You won't get sitewide-autowhitelisting unless you edit the SA config file to 
make it so.
