I installed as a regular user, "gward" (after giving myself write
permission to the necessary dirs -- /usr/local/share/spamassassin and
/etc/spamassassin in my case). Around the time that I upgraded to SA
2.11 yesterday, my carefully hand-crafted ~/.spamassassin/user_prefs
disappeared, and was replaced by the template from
rules/user_prefs.template. But alas! I can't reproduce it now.

Looking in Makefile, it doesn't seem like this is possible. Could it be
that the first run of the upgraded SA might clobbered my user_prefs?

confused-and-slightly-embarassed,
