I think you missed my point. It is true I did not read the README -- I felt I did not need to. If SA had been by the sysadmin on my machine, I would have read the README to override the default location of these rules had I needed to. If I remove the kludge from the shell script I included in my previous mail, I get the error: -=-=-= mkdir -p /etc/mail/spamassassin mkdir: cannot create directory `/etc/mail': Permission denied make: *** [/etc/mail/spamassassin] Error 1 -=-=-= > I just realized I forgot to add that same functionality to spamd -- > sigh.
