There are quite a few SPAM sending tools that insert this sort of text
when unregistered and, oddly enough, there used to be a lot of SPAM that
featured this "nag" in it.

I always thought it was kind of poetic that the people publishing
spamming tools were being ripped off by other spammers. ;)


Anyway, while the warnings are out of fashion at the moment, they used
to show up on a pretty regular basis. They are more common in news than
mail, at least for me, these days.
