We run Spam Assassin with the Razor option - and it does a good
job (from what I can tell). With new spam "tactics" being found daily, I
fear that spammers may catch on to the "point system" that spam assassin
runs and will easily be able to produce messages that will not look like
spam to get pass such filters as Spam Assassin and other content-based
filters.

Would it not be a good idea to have perhaps a daily updated
spamassassin.cf default file and keep that file updated on a weekly if not
daily basis? Something simple that maybe you can throw into cron to fetch
it every night and you are at that point assured you have the latest rule
set available?

I don't think that there is anything like this currently. I feel
it would be a good idea to perhaps look into. We could have 'current' and
'stable' for those of us (like ourselves) that don't want the newest
untested code.

If something like this DOES exist, someone point me to it :)

Scott
