I'll add something. I haven't been doing much with SJ for the past few years
other than answering the occasional support email :-)

to create a connection

Hi Rob:

Thanks for the suggestion. This worked!!

Note that this information was not available in the FAQ on the SourceJammer
website. Seems like it would be useful information to post there. I’m a tech
writer here at NetSuite. Let me know if you need someone to draft the article.

Thanks,
Sabina

Hi, Sabina,

It's definitely the Program Files (x86) folder that's causing the problem. I
totally forgot that I had the exact same problem when I upgraded to Windows 7
last year. Basically, Windows is preventing the SJ client from writing to it's
own install directory. Just move your SourceJammer folder to C:\ and you should
not have this problem.

Please let me know if this helps.

Thanks.

PS: There's actually a slightly newer version of the SJ client that I keep
neglecting to release. You've inspired me to try to get that out this week.

Subject: RE: [SourceJammer-users] Transformer exception occurs when attempting

Hi Rob:

Unfortunately I do not have access to the server to verify the version, and my
boss is out of town. The client version is
2.1.2.0 beta 2. This is the version everyone on my team is instructed to use.
Not sure which is the version available on the sourcejammer.org website.

Do you think the operating system could be a problem? I have been using this
version of SourceJammer on my previous workstation running Windows XP without a
problem, but now I’m encountering the Transformer Exception as I try to build
my
new laptop which is running Windows 7. No one on my team has seen this error
before. I was the first to get a Windows 7 machine.

Another thing is that my laptop has two program files folders. I installed
SourceJammer in Program Files (x86) for 32-bit software. Was this correct?

I verified that the environment variable for JAVA_HOME, the Java version in
Program Files (x86), and the value for JRE in the sourcejammer properties file
are all the same values that were working successfully on my previous
workstation.

Thanks so much for your help.
~Sabina

Could you provide more info please? What server version? Client version? And
attach whatever error message you're seeing. It would help if (assuming you're
using Windows) you use the sj_gui.bat file to start your client and try to copy
any error stacktrace you see in the command window and send that to me.
Basically, the more information you give me the more likely I will be able to
solve your problem.

Thanks.

I verified that other users also have the beta version and they are able to
connect to the server without error.

This sounds like a version mismatch issue. Is the client the same x.x version
as
the server? If, for example, the server is SJ 2.0, then you need to use a 2.0
client to connect.

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks.

Subject: [SourceJammer-users] Transformer exception occurs when attempting to
create a connection
Hi:

I have installed SourceJammer, and I’m trying to create a new connection to an
existing archive on a shared server. After I enter the local alias, the URL for
the server, and the Archive Name on the server, I click OK then I get an error:
Transformer exception in saving connection list document.

After the error occurs I cannot proceed. Please advise.

Thanks,
Sabina
