One has to be careful with this. In the literal context (Ql, Li, etc) the ascii minus-hyphen in the input is preserved as such. In other contexts you will get a math minus sign in PS/PDF output, or groff UTF-8 text output, which makes man page not copy-pastable. And wide (about the size of en-dash) minus sign looks rather ugly in non math contexts like 02:00 CST (−06) in PS/PDF. -uwe
