it's a pity that this no longer works on older netbsd /bin/sh. the rev 1.5 from a couple of days ago works ok, but the latest gives this error:
sys_info.sh: 105: Syntax error: "&" unexpected i am unfamiliar with the ";&" syntax, so i'm not sure how to avoid this without reverting to a list, or having each be a function that also is registered. actually, i kinda like this idea. it allows for the implementation to be augmented via some additional method (such as sourcing a user's dot file.) .mrg.
