Getting rid of them entirely wasn't what I had in mind; more along the lines of switching to the dirent type symbols. Or the S_IF* symbols. Having both the DT_* and S_IF* symbols is unavoidable because both were standardized, but there doesn't seem to be much justification for a third kernel-only set. > Would removing them solve any real problems?
