I've been thinking about that. I'm less talented with 140 characters than
some of the other participants on this list, but perhaps something like
these would work:

As a student, Louis Pasteur got a mediocre grade in chemistry and failed an
entrance exam. Later in life, he invented a vaccine for rabies.
