[Lucas Nussbaum] > The fact that others are doing it doesn't mean that we should do > it. I think there's a quote from a famous politician that said "With > such arguments, you end up sleeping with your sister". Personally, I believe it is a good idea to allow DDs to apply as well as non-DDs. Not because others are doing it, but because I believe it is a stupid idea to ask DDs to resign to be allowed to participate as student in the Google Summer of Code. I am not afraid of corrupting the system, and fail to accept the opinion of those that claim it would demotivate them if non-Debian organizations pay DDs to work on Debian-related tasks. If they are demontivated by this, I suspect their motivation could use a tune-up. And I believe the 'attract new people' argument is not a very important one. A more important argument is to give more people time to work on Debian while also getting food on the table. :) Happy hacking, -- Petter Reinholdtsen _______________________________________________ Soc-coordination mailing list [email protected] http://lists.alioth.debian.org/mailman/listinfo/soc-coordination
