You cannot call a SOAP service using a regular POST from an HTML page. Such a post will send the values of fields on the form in url-encoded format.
Of course, with IE you can have JavaScript that is fired for the post that will create the SOAP message as XML and send it, but this is basically having a JavaScript client, not HTML.
