In other words, Xerces.jar should be the first entry in the CLASSPATH.

Hi,
I struggled with the above error for more than two days... I just understood
the reason and I felt like sharing so that other will be saving their time
that is why I am writing this mail...

the above error comes when the server is identifying a wrong file of Node
class.  In case of Tomcat Server 3.2.1 it is maintaining the older version
so please see to it that the proper version of the XML package is available
in the classpath and it precedes the tomcat lib jars... so that the error
can be avoided.....  for more details please refer to the following URL.. it
