I tried:

source: /path/to/my/go/juju/src

But it seems the godeps plugin ignores that as it still wanted to run godeps in
<snapcraft-dir>/parts/juju/src/dependencies.tsv

The plugin is really new, and works well with git sources. Just not directories 
yet.
