Hi all, I have a new USB bridge to report. Smartctl gives "unknown USB bridge" but -d sat does the trick just perfectly.
This is the bridge chip from a Buffalo Technologies JustStore Portable slim external drive (http://www.buffalotech.com/products/portable-hard-drives/juststore-portable/juststore-portable-hd-pvu2/) I posted this to the -devel mailing list previously. Sorry for misdirecting it. Thanks for this great software, Dan # smartctl -a -d sat /dev/sdh smartctl 5.40 2010-03-16 r3077 [x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu] (local build) Copyright (C) 2002-10 by Bruce Allen, http://smartmontools.sourceforge.net === START OF INFORMATION SECTION === Device Model: SAMSUNG HM500JI Serial Number: S1ZJJ90Z408875 Firmware Version: 2AC101C5 User Capacity: 500,107,862,016 bytes Device is: Not in smartctl database [for details use: -P showall] ATA Version is: 8 ATA Standard is: ATA-8-ACS revision 6 Local Time is: Mon Jul 19 13:29:16 2010 EDT SMART support is: Available - device has SMART capability.
