You can dynamically modify the weight of nodes with:
scontrol update nodename=<nodename> weight=<weight>
So, in theory, you could do that periodically to adjust the weights you
may want.

Can I set dynamic or calculated “weights” for nodes based on server
load, memory free, keyboard idle time etc?
The reason I want to do this is sometimes servers are busy running
non-slurm jobs so load can be high, and in this case I don’t want them
to accept slurm tasks.
Also (I think) if no weights are set then nodes appear to be assigned
“alphabetically”? i.e. node_1 seems to do most of the work even if
it’s older and slower.
I recall that this was possible with Condor via Requirements in the
ClassAd but is there a similar method for slurm?
Have I overlooked something obvious? Is this something slurm can do?
