Dear slurm-developers and users, Sorry for the interruption.
My name is Tianheng Zhao and I am a member of the Cambridge Consulting Network, a student society at the *University of Cambridge*. Myself and a group of other student consultants are working with ARM, the semiconductor IP company, to investigate the challenges software vendors face in porting their products to the ARM architecture. In particular, we are supported by Geraint North, the Distinguished Engineer at ARM for HPC industry. Our focus is on the high performance computing market, where the presence of ARM hardware is growing. You may be aware of the selection of ARM processors for RIKEN’s new Post-K supercomputer ( https://www.fujitsu.com/global/Images/fujitsu-next-endeavor-the-post-k-computer.pdf <https://www.fujitsu.com/global/Images/fujitsu-next-endeavor-the-post-k-computer.pdf)>), as well as ARM’s recent acquisition of Allinea Software ( https://www.arm.com/about/newsroom/arm-extends-hpc-offering-with-acquisition-of-software-tools-provider-allinea-software.php <https://www.arm.com/about/newsroom/arm-extends-hpc-offering-with-acquisition-of-software-tools-provider-allinea-software.php)> ). Our objective is to devise ways in which ARM can enable and support software vendors such as yourselves in your porting and ongoing support activities. To that end, we want to identify the business challenges for vendors, as well as the technical requirements. Given your position and experience in HPC industry we believe that you can provide insight into these issues. Consequently, I was wondering if you would be willing to finish an online questionnaire for me?
