I think I've got you slightly confused, which is understandable the way 
the topic has wandered among several threads.

My design is for a flow-through device, but it's set up for the water 
the rancher uses for mixing the daily feed mash, not the distributed 
watering system. 

Terry reported that the 160 gallon tank fills in about 15 minutes, for 
a flow rate of about 10 gallons per minute. Between Dan and me, we 
calculated that *ANY* arrangement of silver electrodes that will pass 6 
amps for 15 minutes will, by the faraday equation, dump enough silver 
into the water to make 10 ppm. So this device would only run for 15 
minutes per day at 6 amps, putting 6 or 7 grams of silver into the 160 
gallon tank.

Terry only has to set up a current controlled power supply that will 
push 6A at whatever voltage is required to keep the current constant. 
Actually, just about any well designed bench power supply with current 
and voltage control would do as long as it puts out the voltage needed 
to drive the cell. He will have to experiment to find out how much he 
needs with water flowing. 

To set up the supply, start the water flowing, ramp the voltage up to 
where the current exceeds 6 amps by some percentage, then adjust the 
current control to the 6 amp setpoint. It'll then self regulate over a 
decent range of flow rates, temperatures and initial water 
conductivity.

As long as the total fill time stays constant, the same amount of 
silver will be in each batch, with reasonable accuracy. Hell, if he 
puts a timer on it and slows the flow rate down or increases the 
amperage a bit, he could force a controlled amount of silver into the 
160 gallons of water independent of the exact amount of time it takes 
to fill the tank, as long as it's more than the timer runs for. Then, 
even if the flow rate varies from day to day, the same amount of silver 
is in the same size tank for each batch.

It's an interesting project. Hope it provides some benefit.
