Leigh,

First of all, what's a "bil?"

Assuming it is something like a significant-other or spouse...

I don't have experience with honey. But, the wound might benefit from
bentonite clay packs, see "EytonsEarth"

http://www.eytonsearth.org/ <http://www.eytonsearth.org/>

effective for wounds and probably especially effective for something due
to spider bite. Hydrate the clay with your homemade colloidal silver,
or at least use that as a portion of the water for wetting the clay.

Another thing would be colloidal silver with 10 to 20% DMSO added will
help the CS to penetrate into the wound and kill bacteria. I would
suggest not using the DMSO constantly, but once or twice a day with the
CS to dilute it, then keep it wet with regular CS the rest of the time.

Bagging the area of the wound and instilling ozone into the bag may also
be an option.

Dan

Was wondering if anyone has had any experience with Manuka honey for
healing wounds?

My bil has a wound that has resisted conventional treatment, including
two pricey silver compounds supplied by his doctor. The doctor has
pretty much thrown up his hands, and told him and my sister to see if
they could come up with any ideas before his next appointment. (I know
that this sounds weird, but that's what he told them, and they're at a
loss, so they asked me. His treating M.D. is a wound specialist, and
seems well intended, but has apparently exhausted his bag of tricks.)

They seem to think the wound probably originated from a spider bite,
possibly a brown recluse, but by the time the lab work was done, there
was nothing conclusive (As I understand it, they did not isolate any
verifiable venom present in the samples.)

Perhaps I should add that my bil is a cancer survivor, and has some
residual circulatory issues. Some were repaired with stents (as part of
the wound treatment), which did seem to have a positive effect on the
would showing signs of healing for a while, but it has reverted now and
reopened. The doctor suggested he may have some deep venous issues, but
made no suggestions regarding treatment. (At one time, given his
circulatory issues, hyperbaric treatments were discussed as a
possibility, but cost and distance are prohibitive.)

I had previously read a bit about honey as an effective wound dressing,
so looked into it, and the research I've done seems to suggest that
Manuka honey from New Zealand (or Australian golden honey-- both
harvested from tea tree groves) has a higher efficacy than other honey,
and has been used successfully on persistent wounds.

Before I ordered it for them, I thought I'd see if anyone here could
offer any input on the subject-- pro, con, or otherwise.

I apologize if this has been discussed previously and I missed it, but
the archives seem to be down right now, so I can't search.

Any input would be appreciated.

Kindest regards,

Leigh
