The FDA was formed from public outcry when food contained large amounts
of rat turds, hair, floor sweepings in general, bacteria...and drugs were
completely unregulated as to contents and claims. There were many opium
addicts who didn't even know they were taking opium.
The FDA has improved general conditions considerably.

BUT, It does need to be restructured.
Rather than protecting just against known threats, it has come to protect
us, by demand, from unknowns as well.

A good part of this is due to the publics dependency on outside sources
for discovering what to do, coupled with a dependency on lawsuits to fix
things when 'what not to do' isn't known, but someone else must be held
responsible.
Enter the insurance companies who lobby for protection because they have
to pay off 'somebody' regardless of who made an error.

WE have become so blame oriented that we have demanded protection from
'ourselves' and given the responibility to others who MUST restrict
everything not "known", in self defense.
It has become a punishable crime to not know something and the 'not known'
is VASTLY bigger than the 'known'.

Finding things out can be very expensive and dangerous, therefore, only
those who see a possible profit will take the risk...and it IS risky!!!!!
"People" who take risks tend to sue, or use some other benefits paid for
by insurance when they don't work out.

The FDA is oriented towards regulation, not discovery.
It neither has the means or the funds to do discovery.
Protection and discovery are two completely different animals.

What we have here is the old "Help me Help me...no, not like that!" game.
Make sure my food and drugs are safe, but don't tell me what to eat and
take!!
..and 'you' pay for my errors in judgement?
'YOU' pay for my ignorance and gullibilty?
I threw caution to the wind, so now 'blow' me?

Well, it's not a wonder that no one can say anything about anything that
makes any difference without mega bucks backing it up.

 Face the facts.
Any time you charge someone else to do your thinking for you, "or else",
they will do exactly that and you will wind up in the very secure little
cage that you paid them to build.
You can still walk in the woods because you can't sue a tree, or sue a
land owner for what trees do in a forest...but a loggers insurance rates
are high, IF he has any.
One day he may find himself in a suit of armor if he does have insurance,
behaves stupidly and makes lost of claims.
If he stays smart and knows he must be ever aware and careful or die broke
and broken, he doesn't need the insurance.
If he can start sueing land owners for what trees do, he'll not be allowed
into the woods in short order.

Security and limitation IS the same animal.

The only way to do away with the FDA 'prove a negative' bent is to do away
with lawsuits and insurance...and look for our rat turds ourselves and be
willing to eat them if we don't.

The bright side is free speech.
So long as you don't sell something restricted, you can say anything you
want to.
"Buyer Beware" has been wrapped in the 'protect me' blanket, by popular
demand which throws the FTC into bed with the FDA.
The FDA isn't crashing Mikes doors down for hosting this list.

I don't sell dope. I can go out and scream about the wonders of heroin all
I want.
I can stand on a soap box and yell out how much God wants somebody to kill
everyone but people like me.
Though, other people will 'want' to have me arrested for that, there is no
crime in screaming...yet.
There are still some blame limits on how something is heard.

That's next to go when people do what they're told and put a liability
protection blanket over the tellers.
 We are on the way.

If people were better at thinking and not as good at believing anything
they're told while holding someone else responsible for that belief?

Then maybe we could get rid of the FDA and count on the FTC to enforce
full disclosure rules.
...one being 'We don't know what this does, but it's in there'.

..and so long as rat turds are listed on the label, they could be sold as
food, hair tonic or a cold cure...as YOU decide..and take the consequences
of being wrong.

Had the FTC been formed first, we possibly never would have gone on to
feel a need for the FDA.
But we wanted protection rather than information at the time.

any flue pandemic or war might be. It is an organization of guilty liars
driven by the profits of special interests. They are followed by the
medical establishment which is responsible for over 700,000 deaths each
year. and that is the number they admit to. no telling how many they kill
that they dont admit to. I think some "Protection Act" act to stop them is
only a temporary measure in a couple years we fight the battle all over
again. the organization jsut needs to be abolished completely along with
the FTC the AMA, the ADA and a several others that have nothnig but
destructive effect on our lives. So dontn Stop the FDA, lets jsut get rid
of them completely. All of our health will greatly improve and our lives
will be longer and healthier.

friends. so why do we pay them with 25 to 50% of our income every week.
