Jill, Thank you for mentioning that you made the CS with bottled drinking water instead of distilled. I think this clears up the mystery.
There is a reason why CS must be made with distilled: the lack of minerals in the water, which the distillation process removes. The minerals in filtered or tap water conduct charge rapidly, which is why you were able to make the CS so quickly. But having minerals in your water also means that silver compounds can be created. No doubt this contributed to your skin turning gray. Using distilled water is a big piece in properly made colloidal silver.
