I desensitized my husband to some basic allergens--egg, milk, Vitamin C, B
vitamins, iron, sugar, various minerals. Once he was no longer allergic to
these, the sleep apnea went away completely. I think it was the Vitamin C
treatment that did it, because his symptoms quit right after. He was very
allergic
to that, and used to use a whole box of Kleenex every day to blow his
nose--also had a persistent bad cough during certain periods of the day. I am
trained
as an NAET (Nambudripad Allergy Elimination Technique) practitioner, so it is
easy for me to do these treatments on my husband, but you might try muscle
testing your husband for allergies (or have it done by a professional), and
just
go the avoidance route if you find something simple is causing the problem.
Also, test for allergy to dust. If the window treatments or bedclothes or
carpet is dusty, or there are dustmites in the mattress, this could be causing
his
problems also. Dust/dust mite allergy is very common.

You might also try putting some xylitol sugar (purchase at health food store
or online) in a netti pot of water, and irrigating his nose and sinuses, and
then gargling with it. It kills bacteria that cause sinus infections,
bronchitis, and (for unknown reasons) gets rid of asthma. It certainly won't
hurt
him. The xylitol also removes plaque on the teeth by getting rid of the
bacteria
that cement it on. It is supposed to remove plaque from the arteries by the
same process. Xlear, the company that makes many different xylitol products,
can offer you information--www.xlear.com, 877-599-5327. Women--check this
out--xylitol also increases bone density! All this for getting the
"recommended
daily allowance" of xylitol (sugar!). It tastes the same as sugar, and is
substituted in recipes in a 1/1 ratio. I haven't tried to see if it will make
cookes crisp (stevia certainly doesn't), but if not, that's OK. I figure the
crispness in the cookies is the glycation process whereby sugar and protein are
oxydized (crosslinked). If this crosslinking does to my face and body what
the sun does to a piece of supple rubber left outside, I'll take my cookies
chewy, thank you! Your kids will be very grateful to have their usual sugar
products like their friends, but it will actually be helping them! Xylitol has
1/3
the calories of sugar.

Hope this helps,

Jill
