Sad story: although the facts about asbestos were crystal clear decades ago, Japan's major companies paid no heed, and never mind the health ministry minions and labor leaders. No one did nothing, and now, suddenly, in the past month or so, it is major national news that workers have suffered irreparable lung damage. The scandal is that it is a scandal. It should never have happened; the protections were available and cheap.
