Hi gang,

As long as we're talking about well expressed ideas...

I'm reading our fellow list member Nenah Sylver's book on sauna
therapy. It's a excellent book in general, but I was quite taken by a
particular passage:

Page 190:

"Depending on information from outside sources is not necessarily a
negative thing, particularly when it's about something unfamiliar. But
people who place their health in the hands of others because "that's
the way it's done" -- or because they don't trust their own experience,
senses, or ability to learn -- are less likely to heal, or heal
completely, than those who educate themselves and make their own
decisions. ... The body has a wonderful capacity to heal itself, if we
only give it the chance."

I'm taking it very slightly out of context, but it is just *such* a
clear statement of a core principle I can't resist. <grin>

Be well,

Mike
