I have addressed this subject before, but the gist of it is that the 750 (or .750) applies to 18 karat gold (18/24 equals 75%,ergo .750). The 925 (OR .9250) indicates the Government of Mexico's official approval of the assay value of the silver at 925/1000,or .925 pure silver, and .075 of allowing constituents (There is no karat designation for silver purity, to my knowledge). I believe you can trust Mexican Silver! Indonesia makes Banka Tin silver (constituents unknown) , and of course Germany makes GERMAN SILVER which consists of an alloy of nickel and copper! Sterling silver is a new kettle of fish! Apparently, it is also 925 fine. The Europeans also made some peices of 800 fine silver.
