It will wear off. When I got my thumbnail pierced, I soaked the thumb in CS and alternated that with applying straight essential lavender oil. I've done the same for a bad burn, and the nail/skin did turn an ugly brown, but it either wore off or grew out. I ignored it, as the benefits of the treatment (pain relief and fast healing) outweighed the cosmetic effects, which are temporary after all.
