Unless you have electrodes that are several feet long, 10 gallons in an hour indicates very very high current density that increases almost exponentially over that hour in an unpredictable manner if the current isn't also controlled.
I've made one gallon batches CS at 20 uS that went sorta blackish [could be construed as grey] with 7 inch wire electrodes and current controlled to 6 milliamps. Switching to 14 inch electrodes at 4 milliamps and using constant stirring made a big difference. Even that was walking the edge.
The black cast to the water settled out in a few weeks coating the bottom. The CS?.."maybe" ok. [drain filler to me]
A generator can be run so fast and hard that oxygen and hydrogen produced by the electrodes is made so fast and violently that it will actually emulsify the water resulting in a black foamy looking stuff forming that stratifies into brown and black layers later on. [That's on the drastic end of lousy ways to do things]
I suspect that black silver oxides are being made 'in' the water 'later' rather than 'on' one of the electrodes 'now' where it will pretty much stay stuck there.
Anyhow, IMO, the current density on the electrodes of that generator is WAY too high.
