I bought it through Sportsman's Guide <sportsmansguide.com> a couple of years ago, though I don't know if they carry them anymore, but they were available at the time at various sites online. The candles in mine do have silver, but in some ads for the Aqua Rain filters they don't always mention silver per se, so don't know if they all have it or not. There is also the Berkefeld which is made in the U.K.-- it was my understanding when I started looking for this kind of system that they were sort of the gold standard of this kind of unit. They use the Doulton system candles, however, once again, I don't know if all their units use silver, though I know at least some do. Doulton was first commissioned by Queen Victoria in 1850 or so to make a water purifier for her own use, as a counter for the various diseased common in that time. My unit is essentially the same as their stainless steel model, but they also make a line of ceramic vessels that are just beautiful (may 'need' one of those when I find a way to rationalize the expense... <g>). Bit of trivia... I first started looking for a unit with silver impregnated candles after reading about your work, Reid. (Thanks... =) ) Kind regards, =============Leigh Thames -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver.
