Frineds, I need info on forms of silver in ceramic water purifiers, and I'm hoping someone can tell me where I can find out what the EPA has to say about this. My understanding is that they are okay with silver metal and silver oxide. The regulations may not be up to date with the new understanding that the silver removes bacterial problems. It appears that what is written has yet to catch up with this reality, rather stating that bacteria will simply prevent regrowth of bacteria in ceramic media. But this is okay in the sense that it doesn't put a damper on production. What I want to know now is what the EPA may or may not say about other forms of silver in water purification media. For example what about silver nitrate and/or silver chloride? Can anyone supply me with a link to this information? Thanks, Reid
