This isn't low voltage but it worked. I took a Sears electronic air purifier, output 6400 volts DC @ 0.20 mA and two 1g. ingot/coin electrodes and suspended them over and about 1/4" into 1qt. DW. It took about 5 weeks but I finally got violet CG.
If I remember correctly they were spaced about 1 1/2 inches apart and I had to add water almost daily to compensate for evaporation. I saved about 4oz. to seed my next batch and to use as a color guide. Anything less than five weeks brewing will be another success for me. I have two 5g. ingot/coins that I might try this winter. The old batch is two years old and just as pretty as the day I made it. Michael
