Willy, CG must be made using a neon sign transformer AC. The NST has built into it a large amount of reactance so that one can actually short the transformer withou it blowiong up. Its not recommended. but that property allows the current to stay the same and the voltage to vary as required. A transformer froma fuel burner will not last.
