The CS was probably made too fast in too cold an environment and was not
stabilized by proper hydration. It then agglomerated into large particle CS
ranging from amber and violet to reddish.
 If you wish to "rescue" these batches, put a few drops of hydrogen
peroxide in them and wait...but do not use them as starter for the next
batches.
