Damian, Sounds like you were trying to mow a lawn with a pair of scissors.
What medium did you grow the bugs in, was it liquid? A better experiment would be to repeat what you did, but add the CS and H2O2 etc immediately after the swab, and have a control which gets nothing but distilled water. Compare the results to the control.
