Someone here will correct me if I'm wrong, but I am pretty sure that you cannot turn blue by adding salt to CS after it is made. (Unless perhaps you also heat it or let it sit forever?)
Never add salt while making CS. But it can be helpful to add salt to CS for some applications - at the time of application; i.e. to balance salinity for nasal spraying or flushing.
